How time flies

25Jan08

I promise I haven’t forgotten about the blog. I’ve just been obsessed with all things house-related, and our wireless connection leaves much to be desired…but really there’s no excuse for leaving you all in the lurch about the cute things Nola has been doing. Thankfully she’s not crawling yet, but she’s really just about to. She’s crawled a few times but I don’t think it’s dawned on her that she can actually crawl in order to get places. She’ll figure it out soon. She’s pulling up on things left and right and likes to stand and let go with one hand while I have a small heart attack. All this pulling up made me realize that she was outgrowing the co-sleeper (which has been in a separate room for a while), so we broke down and bought her a crib. I think she actually really likes it.

She is still an eating machine. She currently eats: apples, bananas, prunes, carrots, butternut squash, peas (both whole and pureed), pears, sweet potatoes (both cut-up and pureed), cheerios, zwieback toast, biting biscuits, and avocado. I’m really enjoying making food for her instead of buying baby food. I just cook the food, puree it, toss it in ice cube trays then put the food cubes in a ziploc bag. In fact, Dru asked me the other day when I was going to start cooking for us again! Soon enough, Dru. I’ve been using the Wholesome Baby Food site a lot; it’s really helpful.

Here in the new house we have a partially finished basement, Dru’s “man cave” as he calls it. In this man cave is a set of drums on which Dru let’s out his aggression. Here’s Nola following in her Daddy’s footsteps:

And no, Bill I don’t have a picture to show you yet. I just can’t remember to walk out in the street and take one until it’s either dark or icy. I promise I’ll post one soon. We’re settling in slowly but surely. I tell ya, it’s slow going with little Nola around, but Linda’s back in town to whip us into shape. We’re so glad that she’s here!

Oh, and here’s a video:

Thanks, I’m trying not to nag about the blog. I know your busy. Love the video. She is so close to crawling.
