That’s right, in the weeks that we’ve been absent from the blog Nola has been busy! In spite of my best efforts to keep her in one place she is now a walking machine. She still looks a little like a drunken old man when she wobbles across the room, but she’s getting steadier and steadier. Here’s a video from a week or so ago. She’s already improved even more than this shows.
FINALLY Spring has arrived in New England, and we’ve opened the doors and windows to enjoy it. Nola loves looking out of the front door and watching the world go by.
Her other favorite thing is playing with pots, pans, bowls, spoons, whisks, whatever I give her that isn’t a designated toy.
With the warm weather (It was in the 80s today – hallelujah!) I’ve been working in the yard and getting a kitchen garden started. I’ve been trying anyway. I’ve realized that Nola has an appetite for leaves, sticks, and grass. So, the other day I finally resorted to putting her in her booster seat on the ground and feeding her one ritz cracker after another. Whatever; it worked.
For some unknown reason I haven’t been toting my camera around with me. I’ll remedy that soon. Plus, we got some good pics with Dru’s camera, but I’m too lazy right now to upload them (hey, I’ve been sweating in the yard all day and chasing around an eleven month old, give me a break).
Oh! And she said her first word: Cat. Lately it’s sounded more like “dat,” but she says it and points to the cat, so it’s pretty obvious what she’s saying!

I love the “whatever, it worked” comment. So true about motherhood in general. She is so adorable, Aimee. She looks more and more like you as she grows.
What a cutie.
