The world is her grapefruit
Well, I had grand plans of posting a video of Nola walking across the room, but I just don’t have a really good one yet. She’s really walking all over the place. This is my favorite recent video, which shows her walking a little bit. As usual you just have to ignore my annoying baby voice. I really do try not to talk to much when I get these little videos but it’s hard not to!
So we all know that Nola is an amazing eater, right? I know, I know, that will most likely change one day, but for now she eats almost everything I give her. ALMOST. Rebekah and Kiy were over a week or so ago and Kiy was eating some peach yogurt. Most of you know that the peach is my favorite fruit, so I was going on and on about how much Nola would like it. Since Kiy didn’t want all of it I thought I’d offer some to Miss Nola. Boy was that a mistake! She hated it. For the first time ever she actually cried when I gave her food! She spit it out and really started crying. I tasted it and it was fine; apparently she just doesn’t like peach yogurt. BUT, then the next day I was eating a grapefruit for breakfast. I’ve gotten in the habit of just peeling them and eating them like oranges. Since she wants everything I’m eating she kept reaching for it. Finally I gave her a couple of segments to suck on thinking, “ok, but you’re going to hate it.” Here are the pictures:
Will she like it?
It’s sour!
Well whaddaya know…
I just think it’s really funny that she likes grapefruit so much. Now every time I eat one she fusses until I give some to her. She sucks the juice and then just shakes the pith so that it juice goes all over the floor. I think most of it is going on her tray and down her bib.
I’ll have to work on that peach yogurt. In the meantime I’m working on perfecting pulled pork smoked on my Weber grill. The first attempt didn’t go too well (it was alright; not exactly right though), but I think the second one will be excellent if I do say so myself. I’m cheating a bit by finishing it in the crockpot, but eight hours after it started it’s looking really good! I’ll let you know how it turns out. If it’s a success it’ll be the centerpiece of the menu at Nola & Kiy’s birthday bash.

I love grapefruit.
Those grapefruit pics made me laugh.
By the way, when I have my kid can I hang out
in PJ’s?
I said the same thing, “Paul loves grapefruit”.
I figured you might, so I beat you to it. I do love grapefruit though, and it used to make Aimee jealous.
I have a picture of you, Aimee in little pigtails (you might be just around 2) laying inside of your mom’s kitchen cabinets with all the pots and pans laying on the kitchen floor! This blog is such a treasure. Nola is a lucky girl!
