Cousins reunion 2008
Over Memorial Day weekend Nola and I took a trip to southwest Louisiana to see my Dad’s side of the family. It was a ton of fun and I really wasn’t ready to come back once it was time to leave. Traveling with Nola was a bit of a challenge since I was by myself, but she did fine all things considered. I’m having some difficulty getting images up right now, but I did upload some pictures to flickr. My mom got the best images, and if she ever decides to share them with me I’ll put them up on the blog.
Nola had a few firsts on this trip. She enjoyed her first trampoline, her first meatball with red sauce, her first pool, her first taste of grits (she ate five platefuls), and her first spicy potato (mama’s fault). Everyone loved meeting Nola Bola and they commented that she has beautiful blue eyes just like her namesake (my great-grandmother). It didn’t quite cure my homesickness, but now that warm weather has descended on New England I’m feeling better.
