The pensive bumble bee

I know, I know…my mom gives me grief at least once every single time I talk to her that I haven’t been updating the blog. My apologies. I have no excuse. So, I’ll play catch up with this post. It’ll have to last you a little while since Dru and I are going to Mexico for ten whole days without Nobo (!). We’ll miss her terribly, but I think some time on a warm beach will do us both some good. She’ll enjoy her time with Gran, and hopefully won’t wear her grandmother out. Above, you can see that we’re in a fun “dress-up” stage. I hope this lasts a good long time because I love it. You  may remember this bumble bee costume from last Halloween. It’s actually made for a two year-old, and last year we just cut arm holes in it so that she could wear it. Now it fits her perfectly and when she puts it on she runs around the house with her arms outstretched saying, “bzzzzzzz.” It’s pretty darn cute.

She’s also enjoyed her baby doll…finally! We bought her a (expensive) baby doll for Christmas and it took her forever to take a liking to it. Finally, when she took off the baby’s clothes and hat, she decided she liked it. Anyway, she loves taking her baby for walks in her stroller, with a purse on her arm. Sometimes she grabs her purse and her baby and says, “bye bye!” I say, “where are you going?” And she answers, “Library,” or “Shopping.” Shopping? I have no idea where she got that  one! Another reason that you haven’t seen much on this blog lately is because she tries to grab the camera everytime I attempt to get a picture. So, the photos that follow aren’t the best, but at least it’s something.

Camera, Mama!

And I will leave you with a video. It’s a bit on the long side; about 2 minutes. She’s been really into singing lately. Her favorites right now are “Bah Bah Black Sheep” and “Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star,” which actually have pretty much the same tune (so does the ABC song), which is something I’d never noticed before. We also noticed that she was singing, “Baby Beloooga” one day, and we had no idea what song that was. Travis and Diana came over and told us that it’s a Raffi song. She must’ve heard it at day care. The funny thing is, we looked it up on the Internet, and she really had the tune right! I mean, it’s not complex or anything, but I was impressed (let’s face it, it doesn’t take much).

I’ll be back with pictures from Mexico!

The night night song is too cute. I can’t wait to get up to Boston.

Okay, three things, and the first one goes without saying: 1) She is ridiculously adorable! 2) *Love* her outfit. Very chic. 3) Not dissing your child, but perhaps my favorite part of the vid is LEDA in the background!

She is such a beautiful girl – and getting so big. She’ll be a fun shopping partner soon enough!
